6 Cleaning Hacks That Will Save you Time
I’m sure many of us wish to spend less time cleaning, especially when it needs to be done often. Products like Clorox forceflex plus glad kitchen max strengths, Clorx fresh step, microban treatment, fabulosa wipe, and Febreze garbage bags can all make cleaning much easier. But did you know that there are also a ton of cleaning hacks to save you time and make your routine so much easier? In this article, we go over 6 of these terrific time-saving hacks:
1. Play dough and glitter
Got a glitter mess caused by rambunctious kiddos, or maybe even caused by a bit of self-care arts and crafts? No problem! In this case, play dough acts as more than just a fun, creative building toy—it can also pick up glitter! Just grab a small piece and press it to any loose glitter scattered around your lovely home. When you’re not finding glitter in your floors three years down the line, you can thank us then!
2. Use vinegar to clean the shower head
Frustrated by that hard to reach shower head? Then this hack might be for you! Instead of wasting all of your time scrubbing away, try filling a plastic sandwich bag with vinegar and tying it around your shower head. After ensuring that the vinegar covers all areas of the shower head, leave it overnight to let the vinegar work its magic and voila! You’ll have a shiny shower head without all of that daunting scrubbing.
3. Remove sticker residue with water and vodka
If you have kids, you’ll know that stickers end up everywhere. And yet, even when you try to peel them off, these pesky little things leave behind a gross, gluey residue that’s quick to collect grime. If you’re having this issue, just mix clear, unflavored vodka and water in a 1:2 ratio. Apply the mixture to the residue, dab away the excess with a wet rag, and let it air dry. From now on, say bye-bye to those gross sticker leftovers!
4. Use vinegar to descale the kettle
Vinegar—as you can probably based on how many times it shows up on this list—is great for cleaning many different things. Kettles are no exception: just add a 1:1 ratio of distilled white vinegar and water to your kettle until it’s full about halfway, then let the mixture boil and sit in the kettle for 15 to 20 minutes. After that’s complete, just dump out the mixture, rinse, and enjoy your fresh kettle!
5. Use lemon water to clean your microwave
This hack is actually much more time saving than it sounds. All you have to do is fill up a microwave safe bowl halfway with water and add a slice of lemon, then microwave it on high for around 3 minutes. The steam from the mixture will break up all the grime you have lurking inside of the microwave, allowing you to wipe it clean with a sponge. Just make sure not to burn yourself!
6. Sanitize a sponge in the washing machine
So, after trying out that last hack, you might be thinking: where do I put this nasty sponge now? Fear not, for there is a simple solution: just put them in the washing machine in warm water with some dirty clothes, and that’s it! Say hello to a cleaner sponge from now on!
